The last decade has seen an increasing interest in Early Childhood
Education & Care resulting in much detailed research into the learning
needs of young children. Most recently the framework Birth to three
Matters, Foundation Stage and the PYP have been introduced. Recognizing
the vital importance of this area as essential in shaping society fit to
meet the ever-changing world in which we live and to face-up to the
challenges of the 21st Century, the Irish School has throughout
endeavoured to provide a high-quality education and care adapting a
child-centred approach to learning. |

We aim to create though the preparation of a well-planned programme of learning activities, enthusiastic, highly motivated, successful learners in a richly-resourced safe and secure environment supported by staff who are flexible knowledgeable and professional.
We recognize that parental participation and understanding of how young
children learn as significant in determining children's chances of
becoming motivated and enthusiastic learners.
